Your job is to create a how-to video about a skill that you are an expert on! Here's how:

  1. Write down the steps of your procedure. Be sure to think through ALL of the steps. Don't assume that your audience will know what you're talking about. Your steps should include the sequence/time order words we discussed in class.
  2. Collect any props you might need for video. For example, if you are teaching how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you will need to have bread, peanut butter, jelly, two knives and a plate.
  3. Practice saying your steps and showing them with your props.
  4. Ask a friend or a family member in class or at home to record your demonstration of your how-to procedure using a smart phoneor another device where you will be able to automatically upload your video.
  5. Go to YouTube. If you have a Gmail account, you will be able to log in automatically. If you don't, you will need to create an account.
  6. Click "Upload" and select the video file from your electronic device. Allow the file to upload. Be sure to make the permissions for the video "Public" so other people can see it.
  7. Once your video is uploaded, click "Share" and "Embed." Copy the code.
  8. Come back to this page and click "Edit" and the "Embed Widget" button.
  9. Choose "Other HTML," paste the code from YouTube, and click "Save."
  10. Make sure your video uploaded--and you're done!
